Creating moments and capturing a piece of time means everything to me. I love exploring light and telling stories through my images. I get to connect with some of the amazing people being behind the camera. It never feels like a job because I genuinely love what I do.

I’m Mpumelelo Macu but some people call me “Mpumi”. I’m a commercial photographer and owner of Basement Pixels (Pty) Ltd. I started my photography career at the back of a ten-year-long advertising career. With 13 years in the photography business, I have created work for clients like Red Bull, Afropunk, Adidas, Uber and Volkswagen, to name a few. In 2020 I became one of Nikon South Africa's Affiliates and in 2022, I became one of Profoto SA’s content creators.
